Our very own Ozan! He has been with us since September 2019. ''I was fascinated by the human mind and wanted to be an experimental psychology researcher. Studying psychology at Boğaziçi University, in Istanbul, has been a life changing experience for me. One thing led to the other, I moved to the Netherlands to get my master’s degree at Utrecht University’s Methodology & Statistics Department. After some soul searching and job hopping, I’ve joined ParkBee''.
What Ozan likes most about ParkBee? ''That I can say 'In my team, there’s room for growth in everyone’s own way.' and mean it. I’ve joined ParkBee as a data scientist. Then I noticed that my excitement for writing the software of our data science tools/projects was greater than when I actually worked with data. Ultimately, I decided to pivot to a career in software. When I shared this with our team, they have been absolutely encouraging and supportive. I clearly felt that people around me cared about my professional well being and satisfaction. Not just a bit, to the maximum that I can imagine. I think this is really special!''
In his free time, Ozan likes to read memoirs, or listen to interviews, of people who lived their life with significant dedication to and engagement with an activity. ''I’m thinking of Ursula K. LeGuin’s essay collection “No Time to Spare”, Neil Gaiman’s interview with Tim Ferriss, Jane Goodall’s field memories, Richard Hamming’s engineering lectures, Feynman’s “Fun to Imagine” series…''
