Business Analyst

Are you looking for a new position in a fast-growing scale-up, one in which you can make real differences with uncovered data?

About us:

At ParkBee, we have seen our business grow exceptionally over the last few years. We are a data-driven company that develops smart solutions to make better use of existing parking facilities. We have offices in Amsterdam and London and have opened over 160 locations. Now, we are ready to conquer the rest of Europe. For this, we are looking for a Business Analyst that can withdraw business insights from varied data sets, and is keen on spreading this data-based knowledge throughout our entire company. As a result, we want to make more and better data-based decisions, so we can grow our business and continue to revolutionise the parking and mobility industry on a global level.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Business Analyst at ParkBee, you’ll liaise among all internal teams to validate data requirements, and use your technical skills to extract valuable information from our database, BI interface, and also from other appropriate sources. You would then use your statistical skills to summarise it, and subsequently use your presentation and communication skills to share the results with the rest of our team, or possible ParkBee-clients. As a member of the data team, you will have the authority to guide commercial teams and help them to make smart data-driven decisions. Also, you will:

  • Regularly check-in with team members to understand and respond to individual needs regarding data.
  • Evaluate specific business cases, such as large real-estate acquisitions, using financial models, and the domain knowledge that you’ll gain at ParkBee.
  • Maintain and update our BI interface and dashboards, and develop new effective and clear visualisations.
  • Help to grow a data-driven approach within the company, through one-on-one discussions, and organising training events.
  • Prioritise and respond to ad-hoc requests for data or business analyses, using information from both internal and external sources.
  • Use statistics to understand the limitations of data sets, and draw accurate business conclusions that are actually supported by the data.

We’ll probably be a match, if you have:

  • At least 2 years experience as a business analyst, preferably in a fast-growing company.
  • You already live in the Netherlands (practical requirement for in-person interviews).
  • An expert level of Excel, Google Sheets, or similar products.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of SQL.
  • Experience in BI software and/or data scripting tools. We’re currently working with the Looker platform, so experience with their BI software, and basic knowledge of LookML is a plus.
  • A good grasp of statistics (distributions, confidence intervals, statistical tests, etc.).
  • Proven interest in facing technical and logical challenges, and experience with understanding and communicating about the real-world and business implications of actual results.

What we can offer you:

  • As a data expert in our data-driven culture, your skills will be respected and relied upon by all teams.
  • Support from your colleagues in your tasks and personal development, and a clear growth path for your skills and career.
  • Support for your independence, and time to innovate and focus on the analyses that you believe are important.

Furthermore you’ll get in return:

  • Make a big impact in a growing scale-up;
  • Competitive base salary and bonus structure;
  • Virtual shares;
  • Personal development with an allocated budget to grow;
  • International team in both Amsterdam and London with talented, motivated and smart colleagues;
  • Cool team events & weekly (themed) Friday drinks;
  • Daily delicious lunch;
