DevOps Engineer

_DSC8994.jpg

Start date: as soon as possible

In Amsterdam, 13 percent of the city’s space is used for parking. Still, it’s super hard to find a parking spot. At ParkBee we are on a mission to change that. We develop smart tech to make the underutilised parking space of office buildings, apartments, hotels and public car parks - available to the public.
It is our ambition to fully optimise existing parking infrastructure, transitioning on-street parkers to off-street locations, giving space back to the city.

Over the last few years, we have grown from an ambitious start-up to an even more ambitious scale-up. We have two offices, in the Netherlands and the UK and manage over 150 ParkBee locations.

We are looking for a DevOps engineer to join our technology team who can take help take our infrastructure to the next level. If you are passionate about cloud infrastructure and have hands-on experience with building and maintaining cloud infrastructures, we have the perfect job for you.

What you'll be doing
:

As our only DevOps Engineer in the team, you will have a crucial role. You’ll work closely together with the other team members of the Technology team, consisting of a product owner, three full-stack developers and the CTO. You’ll be working on all of the core services of the system, which means you will be responsible for ParkBee’s infrastructure expansion and optimisation.

You will work on the cloud infrastructure and help setting the vision for our services. Next to the hardcore operation engineering tasks, you will also be able to work on ParkBee’s proprietary hardware unit and new developments like camera integrations and spot sensoring. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who is not afraid of experimenting with new technologies, who wants to make a difference and can make a big impact in a fast growing company.

You’ll:

  • Automate and manage an AWS cloud based system to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security
  • Be system troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains
  • Maintain and improve our Kubernetes clusters
  • Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines
  • Help the team with container configuration
  • Design infrastructure architecture
  • Evaluate new technology options and vendor products
  • Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions

Above all, you will have fun! ParkBee readily encourages engineers to tweak, hack, and break on our Friday innovation days to show potential areas we can grow!

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a DevOps engineer, a real team player, who likes taking responsibility and has a strong hands-on mentality. You get excited by working with, and exploring new technologies and sharing this knowledge with your team. You feel at home in a hard-working, energetic environment and enjoy being part of a scrum team.

We will likely be a match, if you:

  • Have 2+ years of experience working as a DevOps/Operations engineer with cloud infrastructure
  • Have experience with maintaining Kubernetes clusters
  • Have knowledge of database administration, maintenance and indexing optimisation
  • Are an expert in Windows and Linux system administration
  • Have knowledge of VPN infrastructures
  • Have experience with system monitoring tools
  • Understand and focus on business outcome
  • Have experience with infrastructure as code (preferably using Terraform)
  • Above all, are eager to grow and develop yourself, and your knowledge further
